Victorian Symbolism – Faith, Hope and Charity
ByThe Victorians loved to use flowers, gemstones and objects to symbolise sentimental meanings. They had rings set with multi coloured gemstones where the initial letter of each stone spelt a word. For Example Regard – Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby , Diamond.
One interesting symbol I come across occasionally is in three parts – the cross, the anchor and a heart. This stands for Faith, Hope and Charity ( or Love). The pictures show two examples where these three pieces are used together – to decorate a Victorian locket and as a set of three silver charms. Enjoy!

i think the Victorians have a great taste when it comes to choosing symbols as well as jewelries. Victorian charms and jewelries are very lovely, unique, and meaningful.
