Its a while since my last vintage jewellery news update. Over the past few weeks I have been searching out more fresh stock of vintage jewellery for you.
Vintage Charms:
Recently I have added lots of vintage silver charms and gold charms to the shop including some quite unusual ones. IN gold look out for the opening Adam and Eve in an apple and the strange ” Happy days” opening vintage Caravan. The most unusual silver charms include an opening dressing table by Nuvo, a Nuvo penguin waiter and interesting charms such as Don Quixote and St George and the dragon.
Vintage Brooches and Antique Brooches:
I’ve been looking out for vintage designer brooches and now have quite a nice selection including Napier, Trifari, Royal Crown Derby and Exquisite. There are also brooches by named Scottish and Scandinavian silver makers.
I am expanding my selection of vintage rings and antique as these seem very popular. These are in both gold and silver and set with precious and semi precious gemstones. Mainly these will be added to the site over the next ten days so please do keep checking back if you are interested.
Vintage Costume Jewellery

Vintage Jewellery for Valentines day.
I have made a short video on heart shaped charms and valentines charms which would be suitable as a gift for a loved one this valentines day

Vintage Jewellery News – update end June
Posted by: | CommentsThe latest Vintage Jewellery news update from AntiquesAvenue. I have been busy acquiring and adding some lovely fresh stock of vintage jewellery to antiquesavenue.co.uk web shop during June.
Take a look around at the excellent selection of vintage gold charms ( with more to come over the next week) and I have been lucky enough to acquire some more genuine lucite brooches which I believe are a great collectable for the future as well as very wearable right now.

Lucite Brooch
In the antique Jewellery section there are some newly added pieces of Scottish hardstone pebble jewellery. This Jewellery was first popularised by Queen Victoria with her passion for all things from Scotland. Scottish pebble or hardstone jewellery is set with polished stone from the Scottish mountains and is often Celtic in design. I have quite a good selection of Scottish hardstone Brooches and a rather nice moss agate pendant.
Not exactly wearable jewellery but certainly as pretty and as intricate with high quality workmanship are miniature enamel boxes . The most desirable are made in England and I have found some special once by Crummels and Halcyon days
And a sneak preview of whats coming to antiquesavenue shop in early July: Some lovely miniature silver picture frames, Some amazing vintage silver jewellery by the best names in Scandinavian silver ( D Andersen, G Jensen and more) and an excellent fresh collection of antiuqe stick pins …………. watch this space.

Have you seen all the fresh in stock Vintage Jewellery which has been added to AntiquesAvenue.co.uk recently?
I love Scottish and Scandinavian silver and have been lucky enough to be able to add a few nice silver brooches made by some of the top designers from the past. Look for Iona silver and a wonderful Marius Hammer silver and enamel brooch.

Great news I have some genuine vintage lucite brooches back in stock, these are getting harder for me to find and the prices are going up so I think these are a great buy for the future – and so pretty too.
I am particularly pleased to be able to offer some vintage lamp work glass necklaces with birds and leaves. These are really quite rare nowadays
High fashion nowadays back from the 1970s – silver bangle bracelets. The ones available from antiquesavenue are genuine original items and in most cases fully hallmarked. These bangle bracelets are much chunkier and more substantial than the ones available from new nowadays.

Do keep checking back – lots more vintage jewellery being added on a regular basis.
Northampton has a new auction
Posted by: | CommentsI see that Northampton is to have a new auction following the recent withdrawal of Humberts to their Towcester base. According to a leaflet pushed through my door today : Freehold St Auctions will be held in the Nene Centre, Freehold street. That’s the same place as the old Humberts and previously Harps auctions were held.
The first auction will be on Saturday May 9th at 10.oo and every fortnight after that. Viewing is from mid day till 8.00 on Friday and on the moringin of the sale.
Well I will be popping along for a look at the viewing . I’m really not keep on Saturday auctions so my attendance at the actual event will be dependant on what I find at the viewing. I will report back tomorrow and hopefully have a little information on their commission rates as well.
