AntiquesAvenue re-opens eBay shop

My eBay shop is open again . I have just acquired some lovely vintage jewellery and glass paperweights to add to my shop over at www.antiquesavenue.co.uk  and need to move some stuff out to make room. All the art pottery and art glass is gradually moving to the eBay shop starting today that is where you will find the Denby and Langley art pottery. Hope you get chance to take a look

I am having a bit of a clear out from my shop via eBay this week. I am still hoping to move house later this year and am making a start in reducing what I need to take with me. If you are interested in studio pottery or modern glass it is well worth taking a look as most items start at just £9.99 plus postage. Part two of my guide to buying antiques, vintage and collectables on eBay takes a look at how to find the special object you are looking for.

eBay literally has millions of items for sale and there are several ways you can look around:

  1. - Search
  2. - Browse
  3. - Have eBay notify you when a specific item becomes available

Today takes a look at their search facility, tomorrow the Browse option and on Monday I’ll look at setting up eBay to mail you when a rare item is listed.

Buy antiques and vintage – eBay basics

Part one of my beginners guide to buying antiques,vintage and collectables on eBay.  Buying on eBay can be enjoyable  and a great source of that special antique or elusive collectable.  But where to start?  Part one covers some essential skills and knowledge I recommend before you even start.

1. Absolute essentials:

          e.mail, Internet access and a Paypal account.

Hopefully as you are reading this you already have e.mail and internet access and so I shall say no more about those here. Please do set up a paypal account before you start bidding. Whilst this is not strictly essential it really is the best insurance for your safety. It is now a requirement of selling on eBay that all sellers accept paypal. The biggest tip I can offer with using paypal is to fund it from your credit card rather than your bank account. There are two reasons for this:
