I just had to show off this amazing silver charm necklace I purchased recently. Although the actual chain is quite new the charms are mainly genuine antique ones – Victorian charms and charms through to the 1950s.

In total this has over 70 charms attached – I know little of its history but suspect that it is a collection of antique charms put together over the last 30 years.  It measures about 60 cms long and weighs a whopping 259 grams.

Some of the very special silver charms are: owl with glass eyes, touch wood, working compass with lion, Victorian skull, devil in dust bin, victorian pistol pencil, art deco enamel pyramid, paste set heart. Tassels, fobs and spinners. Goldstone heart, coral seal and many more.

Normally I like to keep vintage charm bracelets as they have been made up by their original owners as this retains something of the character. I am making an exception in this case as the new chain is so out of character with the charms. The charms are to be detached and will become available in in my antique charms section over the next two or three weeks.

Oh Anne – this is to die for! It’s very unique. Love it – you are right though, the chain is slightly too modern for the charms. Looking forward to viewing each charm on your shop site. I wonder, could you put the charms onto a fob chain instead? Take care. Ronnie x
