Northampton has a new auction
ByI see that Northampton is to have a new auction following the recent withdrawal of Humberts to their Towcester base. According to a leaflet pushed through my door today : Freehold St Auctions will be held in the Nene Centre, Freehold street. That’s the same place as the old Humberts and previously Harps auctions were held.
The first auction will be on Saturday May 9th at 10.oo and every fortnight after that. Viewing is from mid day till 8.00 on Friday and on the moringin of the sale.
Well I will be popping along for a look at the viewing . I’m really not keep on Saturday auctions so my attendance at the actual event will be dependant on what I find at the viewing. I will report back tomorrow and hopefully have a little information on their commission rates as well.

Hello Anne
can you help me? I love my car boot sales and looking for bargains, but i have for a while now wanted to spreed my wings and try the auction rooms. I live in northampton near town center, can you give me any information on where i can find an auction house in my area as i have looked with no luck.
awaiting your reply
hayley.
Hi Hayley.
The auction in Northampton is at the back of the old Barrats factory and is held once a fortnight on a Saturday – its only just started . I viewed the first one and it was totally rubbish, may try again some time but not yet.
Other than that you will need to get out of Northmapton – try Wellingborough, Bedford and Market Harborough for the most local ones. If you want something on a Saturday then it will need to be Bedford
Hope this helps
Anne
i am a collector of cigarette cards and used to attend auctions in
northampton, they were all pretty rubbish but now we have none
i now do all my bidding on ebay

Hi Steve,
Have to agree with you – shame as I am sure the town is large enough for a good auction if someone cared to give it a go.
Have you tried the Market Harborough auction?
i think we should all start are own and call it “the village “
I travel all over the world for another business and I am in a unique position to buy very old and rare antique jewellery these are sold on my website. I sell antique vintage and designer jewellery and curio’s.
I sell only one of each piece and in most cases can only buy one.
I recently aquired 4 museum pieces one is in the British Meuseum and I have the other one. With each piece of jewellery comes the history where stones where found and anything related to that piece.I would like to show more people the website to enjoy looking at un usual piece from around the world.
