Posted by: | CommentsHere is the first of my look at vintage charms beginning with the letter B.
Bacchanalia,
A wonderful and rare Victorian antique charm which has been hand carved from bone . There is a lovely bacchanalian lady with flowing robes and grapes in her hair and in her basket. The carving is in high relief as you can see from the view of the side. This Victorian charm measures about 2.5 cms long. Originally a Bacchanalia was a drunken festival held by Roman women in honor of the God Bacchus on March 16 and 17. OK ladies any one got a bottle or three? We’ve just two days left to organise our own bacchanalia festival this year.
