Antiques Trade Gazette
ByIts time to renew my Antiques Trade Gazette subscription and they offer me an astounding £18 off if I pay for two while years at once!
I wonder if in this time of instant access to almost any information I need, if the trades most valued newspaper is actually dispensable?
The Antiques Trade Gazette’s is full of adverts for auctions & fairs with lots of pretty pictures of high end antiques that are way beyond the wildest dreams of most and to my taste many are not even that desirable if I could afford them.
This weeks copy leads with a re-vamp of Bonhams auction house and also the sale of a rather wonderful 18th century Lowestoft blue & white birth tablet for £14,000. Inside the Antiques Trade Gazette are news stories fed to it by the leading auction houses mainly the results from their big sales. For those interested in Horology there is an impressive central colour section and for those (like me) addicted to Antique Hunting there is an extremely useful calendar of Auctions and Fairs.
So, Shall I be taking up their 2 year offer? All things considered I actually like the thud of over 100 pages packed with antiques dropping through my letter box each week and yes it’s a nice change from the computer screen. My cheque is on its way.
